Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration at APU

Indigenous Peoples’ Day Honors and respects the Indigenous Peoples who have lived, thrived and survived on our homelands for over 10,000 years. This year’s theme is, “Honoring Our Ways of Life: Celebrating Who We Are.”  Join live in-person and/or virtually via Facebook Life on APU’s Facebook Page.

This year’s event is cohosted by Alaska Pacific University, Alaska Federation of Natives, Alaska’s People, Alaska Native Professional Association, Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, Alaska Native Heritage Center, Alaska Native Sisterhood Camp 87, Alaska Native Village Corporation Association, Cook Inlet Tribal Council, First Alaskans Institute, Native Peoples Action Community Fund and Native Village of Eklutna.

This celebration is available in two ways: 1.) via Facebook Livestream, and 2.) in-person at Moseley Sports Center on APU’s campus, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

You won’t want to miss our first live in-person event celebrating our vibrant Indigenous histories, cultures and communities since 2019!

Parking is limited on campus. There is a free shuttle available from the UAA Arts Building Parking Lot, 3700 Alumni Drive. Elder and Media Parking is available directly at Moseley Sports Center.
