The initial phase will construct a temporary ED entrance in the southeast wing of the ANMC hospital, along with an exterior ambulance and patient drop off. To prepare for construction, the ED Overflow (in the old Dental Clinic space) will close Monday, March 4, at 7 a.m. Equipment and furniture will be moved from this space to prepare it for construction later in the week.
The contractor will gradually take over the east parking lot in phases, fencing off areas for construction. During the first phase, there will be no changes for patients and visitors. Parking and access to the ED will remain the same. You may notice some construction activities around the exterior and interior of the ANMC hospital.
Parking will be limited on the east side of the hospital and is essential for ED patients and visitors; employees are asked to park elsewhere. Staff parking is available in the Denali Parking Garage (attached to the Gottlieb Building) and in the ANTHC Parking Garage, as well as the west parking lot by the pond. With the changes in staff parking, please plan for extra time to get to work.
By this fall, the entrance to the ED will be relocated from the northeast side to the southeast side of the hospital, and the northeast side of the parking lot will be closed for construction. Please pay attention to signage on campus as access routes and parking will gradually change over the summer.
We will continue to provide project updates on the Hub.
