Campus Construction update: Some ANMC windows being covered with plywood; Long-term Tudor Centre lane closure and skybridge door closure

Read for more information on windows being covered; Tudor Centre sidewalk and lane closure; Skybridge exterior door closure

Construction is nearly complete on the Alaska Native Medical Center’s Temporary Emergency Services Department (ESD)!

As we move into the next phases of the Emergency Services Expansion project, construction crews will begin exterior demolition on the northeast and east sides of the ANMC hospital. To protect windows from construction debris, starting on Sept. 5, construction crews will be placing plywood over exterior, non-patient care area windows on the northeast and east sides of floors 1 and 2 of the ANMC hospital.

The south lane and sidewalk of Tudor Centre Drive between the ANMC hospital and Patient Housing will be closed for the next two years, leaving one eastbound lane open on Tudor Centre Drive. The egress door and walkway on the south end of the ANMC skybridge will also be closed for this duration, due to exterior construction activities. Clinical areas affected by this egress door closure have been briefed on the contingency plan for this long-term closure.

Thank you for your patience and resilience as we work to expand access to emergency services and care for the people we serve!
