The Sepsis Prevention Workgroup would like to recognize your outstanding efforts in the management of severe sepsis patients during November 2024. Your commitment to promptly completing the SEP-1 bundle treatments for patients diagnosed with severe sepsis has played a pivotal role in improving sepsis care and reducing mortality at ANMC. Your adherence to CMS SEP-1 guidelines has ensured that we continue to meet critical standards for timely intervention, improving both patient outcomes and overall compliance with national quality measures. The following CMS SEP-1 bundles were met:
• Blood cultures collected before antibiotics and within 3 hours of severe sepsis
• Antibiotics within 3 hours of severe sepsis
• Initial lactic acid collected within 3 hours of severe sepsis
• Repeat lactic acid collected within 6 hours of severe sepsis if initial lactic acid was >2 mmol/L
