This course is intended for people who want to learn the fundamental skills of working with Microsoft Word, such as creating, editing, and formatting documents; inserting simple tables and creating lists, and employing a variety of techniques for improving the appearance and accuracy of document content.
Learning Objectives:
After this training, you will be able to:
- Understand the Word interface and common terminology
- Format text and paragraphs
- Create and format tables
- Insert graphic objects into a document
- Change themes and styles to match the purpose of the document
Basic Course Outline:
- Understanding the Word interface
- Creating a document
- Format fonts
- face, size, color, enhancements, and case
- Perform basic editing tasks
- Cut, copy, paste, drag and drop, undo and redo
- Working with Pictures
- Inserting a picture, positioning, rotating and sizing, moving and deleting, using the picture tools tab, adding a border, and positioning pictures and wrapping text
- Working with Styles and Themes
- Page and section breaks, applying a style, navigation pane, table of contents, modifying a style, changing the style set, changing the theme color and fonts
- Format paragraphs
- spacing, alignment, indents, tabs, bullets, numbering and multilevel lists
- Inserting SmartArt
- Adding text to SmartArt, SmartArt Tools tab, and SmartArt layout and style options
- Format the page
- Changing page orientation, adding headers and footers, watermarks, changing the theme
- Tables
- Inserting, resizing, adding and removing columns and rows, merging, splitting, and sizing cells, alignment, and table style options
- Reviewing your document
- Spelling and grammar, word count, adding a comment, reviewing comments, and tracking changes
- Different Views
- Arranging windows, show group, zoom group
- Understanding the backstage view
- Save, print, recent list, starting from a template, previewing and printing, emailing and options
For the best experience, you’ll want to have a working microphone, a webcam, and be docked with at least one monitor.
