R Training for Beginners

This 2-hour virtual training opportunity will introduce foundational R skills including installing packages, analyzing and visualizing data, and exporting output. No prior knowledge of R is necessary.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand R syntax and structure
  2. Manipulate datasets and conduct simple analyses
  3. Create and export tables and figures

Training Facilitators

Julie Morris, PhD, MA | Senior Biostatistician

Dr. Morris is a Senior Biostatistician at the Alaska Native EpiCenter. Julie holds an MA and a PhD in Sociology from the University of Washington. She specializes in statistics, demography, and social determinants of health research.

Megan Ackerman, MS | Biostatistician

Ms. Ackerman is a Biostatistician at the Alaska Native EpiCenter. Megan holds a BS in Mathematics and an MS in Demography, and she provides data analysis, data dissemination, and technical assistance.
