I had a patient point out Joel in the hallway on our way to Radiology and they asked me “Is that Joel?! Can you stop? I want him to thank him!” (Joel had been her nurse in 5 months previously). Patient stated that he was so kind, caring and took the time to listen to her concerns. He never rushed her or made her feel like he didn’t have time to help her even when she knew he was busy. She said “He didn’t just hand me a menu for breakfast and a phone to call myself. He would sit down and tell me what my options were from the menu, take my order and call the cafeteria himself to place my order. I felt truly cared for and appreciated as a patient.” Thank-you Joel for taking such great care of our patients! And making a lasting impact on them, still memorable months later 🙂
